sez is in red because it is not a real world. It is the spell checker. Are there any computers with network shares? If so, type smb:/<computer name>.

Are there any computers with network shares? If so, type smb:/<computer name>. This is completely unrelated to the Linux Laptop... but... Hmm... can computers running Linux access Windows XP network shares? Or do you have to run a "server" on the Windows machine (e.g. an SSH server.)

Of course... why wouldn't they?
EDIT: That is, of course they can access it.

firstly, sorry for spam, secondly thanks for calc, thirdly F5 did work, but i just discovered if u leave it for long enough (on smb:/benjamin) it eventualy comes up with an error saying - 'could not connect to host for smb://benjamin/" This is the first time ikve seen this error as i never left it for long enough. Just a thought...would the comp name benjamin be case sensitive?

Post by Maximilian on Dec 6, 2006 18:24:43 GMT
As far as I know, it *shouldn't* be case sensitive.
Hmm... I've had a thought too.... it might depend on Net-BIOS/firewall settings.

1.) OK 2.) OK 3.) Did or didn't? 4.) No, it's not case sensitive
Are you sure your computer is called Benjamin? Try going to another Windows computer and clicking Start->Run->\\Benjamin\

Are you sure your computer is called Benjamin? Try going to another Windows computer and clicking Start->Run->\\Benjamin\ You could also go on 'Benjamin', right click the 'My Computer' icon -> Properties -> Computer Name and it will be displayed next to 'Full Computer Name'.

Yeah, but that won't show him if it is possible to connect over the network.

Can't you just edit your post in future...? 1.) Save it to a web server and use UBBCode . Not if you don't have a server. I'd suggest imageshack.us, but I hate them. 2.) Right click, Configure KWeather, etc. 3.) Hmmm... That means that your computer is accessible over the network. I'm trying something out now... EDIT: 1.) Email it to me. 3.) Open up a terminal, type: su [root password] #No square brackets!!! smbclient -L benjamin
If it says smbclient not found, don't start again, but do: apt-get install smbclient smbclient -L benjamin
Tell me what the output of smbclient -L benjamin is.

1.) Find your ip address and do smbclient -L (ip address)
2.) Try K->Control Centre->Regional & Accessibility->Country/Region & Language. Make sure your locale is set to UK. US is probably the only language available for you, but the country or region one (top drop down menu) needs to be set to UK. This _might_ fix it.

Why do we have to use numbers and not a), b), c)?

When you do quadratic equations, you'll understand. I get sick of numbers being in set 1.

Haha. Set 2 is the best. All of your work but at a more enjoyable pace. As in less exercises and more learning.

They just give you the answer papers while we do the work !!!!!
And origami is very mathematical, that's why we do it.
