May I have the source code for NetWar 3 ??
I plan to either improve the code (which I won't, it doesn't need improving)
or make a TC of it (Total conversion).
Think new weapons / ships (if I ever do it)

Now, I would be very happy for you to do that. Unfortunately, you will be extremely lucky if I still have the code. I will look through my old pen drives and hard disks and I think I have it on a CD. I'll try my best. I will not, however, host it here unless you make a Linux version. I don't host Windows-only stuff here. Or rather, ML doesn't host it in my account .

Yes it fucking does!!! Powerups come up in different places for each player for Gods sake! I have never done any optimising on it, either. Heck, I didn't even know what optimising WAS when I wrote that. That code is very nasty. I expect there are also some variable definitions that are never used. BB doesn't tell you so you can't be sure. That is very ugly code and I am ashamed of myself. Fortunately, I now code in C and my code has become cleaner and more efficient because of it (and because of speaking to the people in A.cc). Anyway, lecture over. Long story short - I ought to do a version in C. As soon as I learn networking, I will write a converter to convert BB programs to C. That could be quite fun.

Oh, also, NetWar 3 is not what you want. It is practically identical to NetWar 2 and is full of bugs. NetWar 3.1 is what you want.

I have sent you the code and I hope you improve it. It definitely needs better graphics, and the quadrant concept could be better. In fact, most of it could be better. As soon as I write a Blitz to C converter we can have a Linux one. I don't know whether I will switch to completely C because the converter will not spit out nice code. For a start it will all be in one file and automatic code generators (especially those written by 14-year-olds who have been coding in C for a few months and have never written one before) never output code as nice as hand-written code.

OK, I've sent you the v4 code. I looked at it and it didn't look that ugly, it was very readable and I couldn't believe that I wrote it. I was a very poor BB programmer. Although, when I wrote most of the v4 code, I had already started C. I haven't found the v3.1 code yet and I don't remember if the v4 code is any different to the v3.1 code or if that is the latest version. I think this is a very early version, so it should be almost the same as v3.1. I needed to put it on a CD to get it on the laptop (I did most of my Windows coding on the laptop for a while as I had SuSE on my PC). So, yeah, it should be OK. Post here or we'll see in school tomorrow.

Laser guided gurus, get them while their hands are busy! They can't fight back!
*Laser Guided Guru 1 makes a run toward Ninja Monkey 1, Guru 2 begins to activate his laser towards Monkey 2. Guru 1 makes a wild dodge around Monkey 1. Monkey 1 wobbles into the path of Guru 2's laser but ducks just in time. Guru 1 is fried by Guru 2's laser and Monkey 2, the swearing having passed, leaps into the air with a wild cry, crashing down on Guru 2 who is deactivated. Stanley goes off to order some more gurus*

At some point I will write a library making it easy to port BB software to C. That would be easier than writing a converter.

At some point I will write a library making it easy to port BB software to C. That would be easier than writing a converter. So you'd just install the library to something like Dev-C++ and open the Blitz file ?? Sounds useful to Blitz developers.

What are you on about? 'Install the library to something like Dev-C++'?
Perhaps try:
#include "thelibrary.h" ?

What are your plans? I assume you'll write a map engine and possibly a map editor...? I'll help you of course, if you need help.

Map engine.... maybe.
That will only be attempted after the rest of my plans are complete.
